While your electronics may not be as meaningful as your antiques or special mementos, you certainly use them each and every day. That is why you need to properly pack them up so that you are not without your TV, laptop, or game console after you move to your new place.

We have collected some ways to safely transport your electronics during your next move:

If you have important data on your laptop or home computer, take time to back it up onto removable drives. This will be imperative if something happens to your computer on the way to your new place.
Take a moment to remove the batteries that are in your TV remotes, game controllers, and more. Batteries can break and cause corrosion. Also, do not leave loose items in any of your electronics that can cause problems as the items are shifted around.
Make sure that all of the wires or accessories that are attached to your electronics are removed and wrapped up, and packed up. You do not want loose wires hanging that could cause damage during a move if they are accidentally pulled out abruptly.
If you have kept your XBox’s old box, then put it to use. The packaging was made just for your electronic device, and you cannot get a better fit. If you no longer have the original packaging, pick up the appropriate-sized moving box from our crew at Elite Truck Rental. If you know the measurements, we can help you determine the best box. You will want to pack your electronic device with plenty of bubble wrap or peanuts on all sides to help cushion it during the move.
When you are moving across the country, or your electronics will be boxed up for a while, it is a good idea to insert packages of silica gel. These are essential to help collect any excess moisture that may get into your box and cause problems. It is also a good idea to try to keep dust out of the cases of your devices. You can accomplish this with a layer of bubble wrap or securing towels around your items.
For your big-screen TV, put a padded moving blanket to work. Do not stack anything on your TV when it is loaded up in your moving truck rental.
