Simple cardboard boxes are at the center of a move – no matter what the size. You will have to condense and seal up all of your belongings in moving boxes to best pack up your moving truck rental to get going to your next destination.

Here are some key ways to best fill up your moving boxes:

Get Everything You Need: Before you dive into packing up your boxes, make sure that you have everything you need within reach. Beyond just the boxes, you also want to have peanuts or bubble wrap for your breakable items, packing tape, and labels or a marker to keep track of what is in each box. Get Organized: Have your belongings arranged by room or category and also by similar size. You should have all of your smaller breakables together, so they can be wrapped and labeled, and handled with care. Also, put dividers into place when you are packing up glasses or small knick-knacks to keep them from hitting each other.
Fill It Up: Try to use as much space as possible in each and every box that does not contain fragile items. If your box is not full, it could collapse as you stack the boxes in your moving truck rental. But be mindful not to make boxes heavier than you can handle to carry.
Take Your Time: Packing is a time-consuming chore, but leave enough time to wrap up and box up your most precious and breakable items. You do not want to rush through this and have them break on the way to your new place. Use paper or padding in between stacks of plates, bowls, and cups.
Seal and Label: As each box is packed up, close them up tightly and seal them up with strong packing tape. Add tape to the flaps as well as across the flaps for an additional layer of strength. Clearly label what is in each box so that you do not get frustrated later on when it is time to unpack.
Stack it Up: When you are loading up your moving vehicle, always have your heaviest boxes on the bottom and the lightest boxes on top. This will make loading and unloading easier as well as prevent boxes from collapsing.
